France has failed to see a rise in demand for new homes and apartments after two years of decline. Industry professionals fear that 2014 is on its way to be a ‘black year’ for the sector. The government announced its ‘Target 500,000’ initiative to boost housing market by building half a million new homes and renovating 500,000 buildings every year before 2017. But despite the initiatives of the government, house-building in France is feeble.
